When my family would vacation in Chatham we used to eat at a lobster restaurant and they would always give us “lobster bibs”. I think lobster bibs are absurd because, in reality, they don’t really serve a purpose. Lobsters don’t splatter when you open them, and the butter that you dip them in for flavor doesn’t usually get on you if you’re a careful eater. Bibs are for small children, and the only reason people use them is for tradition. Giving lobster bibs to everyone who eats at a lobster restaurant is a waste of plastic, and will inevitably fill up the landfills even more.
